Love, and Epistemology

Words and Music by Chris Frank, 2006

the subway is running
in front of the church choir
we'll hear it tomorrow
the end of the empire
and we'll make it
you and I
I'm talking it up
I don't know why

streets
some I like to walk on
some of them are angry
some I've never seen

and we
are a lot of people
some of us are friendly
or mean

when I was headed home
I kept becoming things I'd like to be
and maybe things will stay
the same as they appear today (to me)

plans
I was trying to make some
changing information
keeps getting in the way

some day
this already happened
and you knew the right thing
to say

the subway is running
in front of the church choir
we'll hear it tomorrow
the end of the empire
and we'll make it
you and I
I'm talking it up
I don't know why

love
never when I want it
never with my socks on
come on

there isn't much time
time to see a movie
time to do the dishes
it's gone

if all the things I thought I knew
I later learned were really true, I'd laugh
so there was something there
I wish I had a better photograph

the subway is running
in front of the church choir
we'll hear it tomorrow
the end of the empire
and we'll make it
you and I
I'm talking it up
I don't know why
