Once I was a classical violinist, but I found rock music. Now I'm a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Come to New York City, and I'll sing for you. Or, give me a place to play in your town -- also, maybe a few dollars -- and I'll sing for you there.

When I'm not playing and singing in the rock band IY, my songs live on my acoustic guitar in the small clubs of New York's lower east side, where they meet seated audiences instead of dancing ones. I enjoy singing with people rather than for them, so you're welcome to learn some of the lyrics and melodies and sing along, or to just sing along without learning the songs first, or to tune your wine glass to the song and play it, or to just clap your hands. Those are all good ways to make rock.

Listen to some songs for yourself up at the top of this page, or read what other people have to say below.

"WOW. This guy's great. Excellent songs, excellent voice, excellent stage presence. Smart, fun, handsome. Why the hell isn't he signed? Wait, Chris, are you signed?"
    - Dana McCoy, booker/naked angel, MUD nyc.

"IY's main songwriters, Chris Frank and Nate Terepka, were weaned on The Beatles -- that could explain how, still unable to buy beer in local convenience stores, their songs exhibit more creativity and unity than scores of bands almost twice their age... it's everything that's wonderful and mysterious about Pop music."
    - The Ithaca Journal

"Chris Frank, lead guitar and vocals, is a superb talent. He has a strong voice that carries the band's message and tone."
    - Buzz Magazine

"With such skillful company, it's hard to say that Frank's guitar is the most amazing, but opening lines like the one on "Eggs", with rapid melodic phrases, pleasantly dissonant harmonies, and the twanging ring of harmonics make his playing stand out. This band is a group of musicians, that much is certain."
    - The IHS Tattler
